Training School
How did you get started in the wrestling business?

I got started in wrestling after meeting Edge, Christian and Glen Kulka at a gym in Charlottetown in 1998. Kulka and I trained back at the gym together that day and I told him how I loved wrestling. He gave me Emile Dupre's phone number and put me over with Emile. Emile asked for some pictures of me and told me we would start training the following spring.

What was the hardest part of your training?

The hardest part of my training was overcoming the language barrier. Emiles broken french and inability to explain things made it frustrating. He never actually got in the ring either he would just say "do the bloop bloop" and wave his hands around. It wasn't until he became frustrated with me that he called Hubert Gallant. Hubert was a good teacher, but we only had four weeks left before the season started so he did as much as he could in the time available. I'll admit i was nowhere near ready when I first got in the ring.

Many people think you left GPW to try and put them out of business. What is your opinion on that?

I actually never left Grand Prix. I was going to head down to Puerto Rico for the winter when my best friend, bussinessman Skot Gallant, asked me if I would help him set up a winter promotion. That way I could stay closer to home with my friends and family. I said I would as long as it didnt run into the spring when Grand Prix was running. He agreed, but Emile lost it. He told me when he found out that I was blacklisted and he would make sure I would never work in the business again.

At the start of 2002 you along with many others left R.A.W. and joined A.C.W. Why did you make that move? and if given the chance would you do it again?

There were a few factors that I don't want to get into, but Warren and Brian knew why, and I left on good terms. It was a personal reason, and I don't want to bring names into it. Would i do it again ? NO. I started R.A.W., and there's a piece of me that always will be in R.A.W. I love that R.A.W chant.

Why did you leave A.C.W.? and how did you end up back with R.A.W.?

I left A.C.W. because I felt it had no direction. It killed me to see that crew of good guys go out and bust their asses, only to have the office continuously fuck up the promotional or booking side of things. Going back to R.A.W. was like going home.

You have worked for two of the three promotions in the Maritimes, could you give your opinion on the strength and weakness of all three.

Real Action Wrestling - The strength of RAW is it's show production and booking right now. The company has grown a lot over the winter. The crews that have been there always consist of guys with a team spirit.

Atlantic Coast Wrestling - Their strength is the determination of guys like Kingman and Flesh to right the wrongs the office is making. Kingman will ensure that even if the office fucks up on presentation he'll still get the best out of everyone in their matches.

Mainstream Wrestling - All I know is it's a bunch of small guys. There's a place for small guys but not a whole roster of them.

There are also two other groups out there Canadian Wrestling Federation and Maritime Wrestling Alliance. Many people feel these are backyard promotions. Your feeling on this and your feeling on backyard wrestling in general.

CWF and MWA are just a bunch of dummies that are going to eventually hurt each other badly. It kills independant wrestling to have these guys around. People think they're going to an indy show, they end up seeing these guys dick around, and are so pissed about paying to see them they never go to another indy show. It kills the business for us guys who spent years training and going to the gym. Even after I got trained by Hubert, I got to train with the Cuban Assassin and the Beast later on. You just can't watch it on TV and say, "Oh I can do that".

People pay to see you wrestle because...

People pay to see me wrestle because they know I am going to give 100% physically and verbally. I make each person in the crowd feel like a part of the show or at least try to. I show up every night hurt or healthy.

You are regarded as one of the best big men in Canada. What do you do differently to make your self standout from other big guys?

What separates me from other big guys is that I refuse to be catagorized as a big guy, with big guy moves. I prefer to work on the mat and work at a faster pace. I push myself to do things that people believe only small guys can do.

Who do you feel in the top Indy star in Canada?

Bobby Rude is hands down the best indy wrestler in the country, physically and mentally, that's not even debatable.

Do you think there is any chance we will see Kingman back with R.A.W.?

Theres always a chance for anything in this business.

Many Real Action Wrestlers past and present have had try out matches with the WWE. Do you expect to get a shot anytime soon?

I am currently working on getting a tryout and getting into a developmental camp. I just didnt want to go until I was ready, I feel that the time has come now.

The 2002 R.A.W. roster is much different than the 2001 roster. Which do you prefer? why?

The 2002 and 2001 rosters are very different, but that is good for the fans. This way faces and wrestling styles dont get old.

Real Action Wrestling has seemed to be going towards new younger talent this year (Lincoln Steen, Scott Savage, Sinder). Do you think this is a move in the right direction for R.A.W.?

The young talent RAW has this year is a good bunch of guys, eager to learn from the veterans. It would be great if we could just put a few pounds on these guys, but the heart is there for sure.

I recently did an interview with Jerry Martell. He stated that you had heat with him. Many readers want to know why?

I dont know what Martell is talking about. I saw Martell at Stations gym last year, and if I had heat with him, he would have known about that day. I am bad (or good depending how you look at it) for speaking my mind. If I have heat with someone, it's not a guessing game, they know.

What do you feel has been your career highlight?

My career highlight so far was definitely working Bobby Rude in a steel cage match last year.

When can we see you in action?

Keep checking www.realactionwrestling.com for the new tour dates. The new tour starts up on July 4th in Eskasoni, NS.

Name Association

Warren Olsen- a friend and man willing to learn the business, his attitude will take him far.

Brian Marchand- competitive, speaks his mind, never any guessing games.

Devin Chittick- tiny wrestler.

Scott Savage- great kid with lots of heart, and isn't afraid to learn or work hard.

Lincoln Steen - haven't really gotten to know him yet but he seems like a good guy.

Vance Nevada- a good guy, very guy to have on a card.

Bobby Bass- no comment.

Buddy Lane- one of the funniest guys in a dressing room, timeless.

Cliff MacDonald- a fucking loud mouth coward. He shot his mouth off when I wasn't around, then wouldn't go back to ACW when I came back from Cuba. Be a man Cliff, face the man your talking shit about.

Gary Williams - a true friend, and very good worker. Stop eating all the Big Macs though Gary for god's sake.

Eddie Watts- Great wrestler, great mind for the business, and one of the hardest workers around.
